OFFICES AT THE SERVICE OF CSR

Offices with very high ecological performance can help companies in their CSR approach. Ecology is at the heart of our concerns, and aims to take care of living things in the broadest sense.

Future proof, The Nest anticipates future uses and is establishing itself as a pioneering project in Luxembourg.

A FERTILE CITY
WHO TAKES CARE OF THOSE
WHO OCCUPY IT

As a living and working space, The Nest offers users a variety of breathing zones, both indoors and out.

Nature delivers its relaxing virtues wherever it can: an atrium planted with trees, walkways immersed in the vegetation, long balconies... The roof terrace completes the range of relaxation areas: you can hold meetings here or end the day with a drink with colleagues.

The omnipresence of nature and the use of natural materials in the interior spaces contribute greatly to the biophilic approach that has been put in place to maximise comfort and well-being.

"The Nest is also committed to "Well Building Standard" certification, which rewards buildings that are designed around the well-being and health of their users.

A FOREST
IN THE CITY

A bubble of calm in the urban world, The Nest unfolds behind a curtain of vegetation made up of trees from the original Luxembourg forests. The trees were chosen for their airy foliage and their changing colours with the seasons. They also stand out for their exceptional ability to capture polluted air. At the foot of the building, planted between the trees, a multitude of bushy shrubs provide insects with the pollen they need.

A LAND OF WELCOME
FOR BIODIVERSITY

In addition to the many green spaces inside and outside the building, the architecture is designed to promote local biodiversity, with the choice of a gabion façade. Birds and insects make their homes in the nesting boxes on the façade, but also between the stones and pebbles. They build their nests there and find the food they need to reproduce.

As proof of our unwavering commitment to local biodiversity, "The Nest" is the first building in Luxembourg to be awarded the "Biodivercity" label.

INNOVATIVE MATERIALS
WITH A VIEW TO
LOW CARBON

Limiting all impacts

The prefabrication of many of the elements means that the worksite can be kept short, with limited dust and noise pollution.

From the beams to the slabs and the framework, "The Nest" favours the use of wood, a natural material par excellence, which also has the advantage of capturing CO2.

For the outer skin of the building, we have opted for recycling and reuse: waste from surrounding building sites is collected and crushed into a compact envelope of gabion.

Promoting thermal and energy comfort

The thickness of the walls ensures excellent inertia and optimum thermal comfort in both summer and winter, as well as controlled energy consumption. Indoor vegetation contributes to a pleasant atmosphere in the heart of the atrium, acting all year round as a buffer between indoor and outdoor temperatures.

The building is aiming for an AA energy performance level and encourages the production of energy directly on site, thanks in particular to a photovoltaic canopy. The remainder of the building's needs will be met by the district heating system, which is itself part of this virtuous circle, drawing its energy from waste incineration.
